100 days already?

It has been 100 days of school. Yesterday to be exact. I can't believe already 100 days. This year has gone fast.

A lot of schools celebrate the 100 day mark. Here at the boys school the 2nd grade celebrates by doing a canned food drive for the day and having crazy hair day. Just the 2nd grade. Jacob is our current 2nd grader. He had been looking forward to crazy hair day.

What did he want? What every boy wants. A Mohawk. He's wanted a mohawk for a while. Dave told him before summer hair cuts he will let the boys sport an actual mohawk for a week. They are really looking forward to it.

So Thursday morning Jacob comes in asking for his mohawk. Jacob has the thickest hair ever. As a baby he would cry and scream and yell and gag because he hated his hair to be cut. He said it hurt too bad. It was truly an ordeal. He has gotten better at getting his hair cut. But he still has really thick goregeous hair.

I let Dave go to work on the mohawk, but we couldn't find hair goo strong enough to hold it up. So we ended up giving the works to Jacob. That's right we fluffed and blew it dry and even used my straightener. Which actually worked. That is after the hair was immovable by hairspray. It sizzled when the ceramic heat touched his hair. Made me think about what it does to my hair. Anyway we had a masterpiece.

Was the mohawk enough for crazy hair day? Of course not. There had to be color. Vibrant red color is what Jacob wanted. Sadly for him I was out of red. But never fear..... We have purple. and black. So we striped up Jacob's hair. It is pretty awesome if don't say so myself.

After Jacob got home from school he said the second he walked in the door at school it was like he was a celebrity. The entire class ran up to him and even a couple of teachers came over to touch the masterpiece. Needless to say he had the best crazy hair in the class.

The funniest time of the day was when we had to wash out the mohawk before bed. I think it might of pierced his brain if we hadn't. As we washed his hair the shampoo turned purple, and more purple. We had to wash his head a couple of times because his skin was purple too. But it all came out and he is back to his normal crazy self minus the crazy hair.

Love that crazy kid.
