Turtle Turtle

Noah has been asking us for a pet. We knew the time was going to come. Especially since our neighbors got chickens and rabbits. The kids love to go over there and play with them.

So Dave told Noah to go out in the pond behind the house and find some tadpoles and grow them into frogs. If he can do that then he would be ready for a pet.

We have a dog but Noah wants one of his own.

Noah and I were outside and I thought one of the kids left their bike helmets out by the road and I asked Noah to go get it. He starts yelling at me that it's not a helmet. By the time I get over there it's half way across the road. I sent Noah to get Dave and this is what we found...
A turtle. He seemed to be a little lost as to what direction to go. He was heading for the river but not sure what a "turtle mile" would be, it seemed pretty far. It's about a 1/2 mile for us.

So we picked him up and brought him to our yard.
Isn't he beautiful? We thought his markings were so gorgeous we had to take a picture.
Here is Noah holding his new buddy. Every time he held him the turtle would pee on him. Pretty funny.
After looking at the turtle and his already fairly large size we decided he probably had a family and should let him go in the pond behind our house.
Here is Noah releasing him. He was fun to have, but Dave and Noah are going to go look for a different pet. Maybe a lizard or a frog. If he can keep that alive....Who knows what else we might get?
